Comps Bday Week

Hello everyone! Hope y'all are having the best day! It was a pretty normal week hare. With a few crazy things haha! But hey that's the life of a missionary.

This week our friend Yosvany was baptized. We taught him about 2 months ago and he wasn't willing to make changes in his life. So we stopped teaching him. But before we stopped teaching him I spent 15 minutes making him a step by step video of how to use the gospel library app. I'm not gonna lie I thought I had just wasted a ton of time and I was so mad at myself.

Flash forward like 6 weeks. One night as I was studying the scriptures I read a verse and his name popped into my head. We hadn't had any contact with him since we stopped teaching him so I was like hmm that was random. Then the next day I kept thinking about him. I decided to call him. He answered and I didn't even say hola haha all I said was HERMANO HAVE YOU BEEN READING THE BOOK OF MORMON?

My comp gave me a weird look and was like that was bold hahah. Turns out every single say since we stopped teaching it he had been reading the Book of Mormon. The day I called him he was on the very last page!!!! He told me that he knows the Book of Mormon was true and he was ready to change his life around. It was a special time at his baptism!

Another random thing this week was I had to translate a funeral. Don't really know how I got myself into that situation but I'm sure grateful for the gift of tongues!

Wednesday was my comps birthday so we set the goal to find 20 people for her 20th birthday! We went crazy but we found them! It was a good way to celebrate.

Here's a quick thought this week. Yesterday I was teaching the Restoration. At this point in my mission I have taught this so many times that I don't really think twice about it. I started the lesson off and I said “God is our loving Heavenly Father.” In that moment that phrase hit me hard. I have taught that so many times and said that phrase so casually!

After we finished the lesson I couldn't stop thinking about it. All night throughout our lessons I just wanted everyone to know there was an ALMIGHTY HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVED THEM. Last night when I got home I was still thinking about it. As we were getting ready for bed we were listening to some music and the song that came on was a Child's Prayer.

The song says “ Heavenly Father are you really there, and do you hear and answer every Child's prayers.” In that moment I felt an overwhelming peace that told me He is there. He does answer everyone's prayers. And He is so so so loving.

I testify that God truly is our loving Heavenly Father. That he is waiting for each of His children to come home to Him. That He knows us perfectly. He is cheering us on. And most importantly picking us up when we fall and carrying us when we can't keep going.

This was a good experience for me. Sometimes we get caught up in the deepness of the gospel or the things we don't understand and that will distract us from the pure simple truths. Remember the basics they are so important.

I love you all but most importantly God loves you I felt that this week!
