Questions????
Buenas noches! Hope you all are doing good! We had another good week here. Our friends David and Gerardo got baptized. It was super fun to help them prepare and see them so excited to follow Jesus Christ.
My companion wants to work hard and I definitely take advantage of that. God is blessing us with so many people who want to hear the message of the restored gospel. We don't have enough time in the day to teach all of them! It's crazy. Don’t worry we are making more time. We got up at 5:30am, 3 days this week to teach our friend who starts work at 6:00am! Don't recommend it but hey anything to help our friends learn about Jesus!
This week we also had 8+ hours we were helping other missionaries and our area was left with nothing haha. Let's just say we were not very happy but God provided and somehow slowed time down for us so we could still teach everyone we needed to! God is so good!
This week for me and my comp was a week of QUESTIONS. One night we started talking and my comp asked some deep doctrine question… this got my brain going so I started asking them. 3 hours later we were confused and stressed and exhausted lol. We decided to call it a night and then the next morning I could stop thinking about all of these deep questions.
We started to doubt a lot of what we knew and we were getting more and more confused. We studied and studied and the more I learned the more lost I felt. I had SOOO many questions. We were constantly listening to conference talks whenever we drove to try and figure out our questions. One night my comp asked me another deep question and once again my reply was I have no idea. My comp then in a joking way said what do you even know? We laughed and turned the lights of to go to bed.
I went to bed with that question on my mind. What do I know?
The next morning as I studied I was asking myself what I knew. Here is the process I went through:
I know that the Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and that I have felt peace and hope and joy when I have read it and prayed about the truthfulness of it. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God.
Because I know the Book of Mormon Is true I know that it had to be translated by Joseph Smith by the Power of God. Which means I know Joseph was a prophet of God.
Because I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he loves us and continues to guide us. I know that God continues to call prophets. I know that President Nelson is a prophet Of God.
This can go on and on and on!
It doesn't matter what I don't know. We are all here on earth to learn. We don't need to know perfectly! But don't let questions overpower what you do know!
Keep it simple and then build off of it! Start small and add! Don't start with the craziest deepest questions. Start with the simplest testimony!
Alma 37:6
6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise
Small and simple things bring great things!
