HURRICANE DEBBY
Heyoo! Hope it was a baller week for all of you. My week consisted of pretty much no time in my area. Thats one of the hatdest things for me to be out of my area. I left my poor trainee that knows no spanish here in miami with another sister who knows zero spanish. Lets just say our area has suffered. Only 3 more exchanges so I am praying those go well!
This week we also survived the tropical storm hurricane thing. We were locked up all day Saturday but nothing to crazy happened just bad storms.
Our friends havent really been keeping committments and its been hard. We are praying for them! We know God will provide.
This week in sacrament during testimony meetings there were so many people going up and it got me thinking about all the different members there are in the church. And these are a few I thought of.
1. MEMBER MEMBER- Someone who loves to tell everyone they are a memeber becasue they were baptized but does nothing else besides pull the member card.
2. MISLEADING MEMBER- Someone who is a member but their actions and decisions do not support it.
3. MINISTERING MEMBER- Someone who is really good at the serving amd loving and acting and jesus christ but maybe doesnt have a testimony of him. But their actions are very pure and good.
4. MISSIONARY MEMBER- Someone who shared the gospel with every single person they see it doesnt matter where or who they are sharing it.
For me this made me realize how many times in my life I have been each of thesd stereptypes. But it also made me realize WHO CARES.
Its not about being a member. Its about being a disciple of Jesus Christ. Its about becoming like him. Being a member does not mean we are covered. We have so much work to do ourselves. We all must become like him. Thag is our purpose. And when we can focus on that and drop the member card we will all become better. A member isnt who or what you are. A follower and disciple of jesus christ. So choose how you represent Him.
I found a talk about this called " Am I a Living Member?" It says: "to answer affirmatively the question, “Am I a living member?” confirms our commitment. It means that we now and always will love God and our neighbors as ourselves. It means our actions will reflect who we are and what we believe. It means that we are every day Christians, walking as Christ would have us walk.
This is christ church. Its not about you or me or any other "member". Its about him. So lets all become more like him.
Love you all! Thanks for the updates and emails! I love getting them!
Love Like Jesus
