Grateful :)
Hope yall are doing good! It was a a CRAZY week here. We got evacuated because of the hurricane and tropical storm… we ended up in a house with 11 sisters and 4 beds. I was the lucky one to get all of the complaints and everything else. We had sisters freaking out about the craziest things. Lets just say not so nice hermana peterson came out and not so kindly reminded them why they were there and who they represented.
In the end we did not get any damage. And everyone was okay! Some flooding but nothing too extreme. Praying for all those that got hit hard by the hurricane. This week we also had to go on a few emergency exchanges. Those aren't my favorite things but it always reminds me of why I am called to be a leader. And it's not for the sisters, it's strictly for me. The lessons I learn from them are much greater than anything I have to offer.
This week we were walking down the road and I saw this mom and her 7 little kids. I was like FAMILY and ran to go talk to them. She had 1 year old triplets, a 3 year old 4.5 year old twins and a 6 year old. She had groceries in her hand and I asked her if we could help her with them. She kindly agreed and we got on to the bus with her and all of her kids to carry her groceries home. She told us she was from Honduras and has gotten to the united states 15 days before. As we shared our purpose she told us she would love to learn more.
It was all going really good and she was so sweet. We finally got to the bus stop and walked the rest of the way to her house. What happened next broke my heart. When we got to her house we realized that the house she had was a tiny little shack. Dirt floors, no roof, and no running water or lights. When we got inside we couldn't really even fit. There was a few blankets covered in dirt that they sleep on and one pillow.
Even though her circumstances were terrible she was so grateful for what she had. She repeated over and over again how blessed she was and how she knows God loves her because of everything he provides for her.
She has literally nothing and she was so grateful! This week look at all you have and show gratitude! I'm super grateful and humble to br a missionary! God is good!
Love Like Jesus
